The company's global brands include Benson & Hedges, Kent, Lucky Strike, and State Express 555. Other regional brands include HB (Germany), Otaman (Russia), and Jan III Sobieski (Poland). B.A.T is the parent of US cigarette maker Brown & Williamson which has recently been embroiled in legal disputes in the Castano case. Brown & Williamson is know for the brands Carlton, GPC, Kool, and Misty. The company's secondary line of businesses, that provide a little "insurance" from litigation-related exposure in the tobacco industry, are insurance and financial services through Allied Dunbar (life assurance and pensions) and Eagle Star (life and general insurance) in the UK. The company also has a US presence through Farmers Group (property and casualty insurance). |
