Farmers Insurance Exchange Our File No.: 96056 Dear --------: We are the attorneys who represent Personal Lines Claims Representatives in an overtime class action lawsuit against Farmers Insurance Exchange ( “Farmers”). According to information that we have received from Farmers, you are one of the members of the class, which consists of all Farmers’ Personal Lines Claims Representatives who have worked for Farmers in California at any time during the period beginning October 1, 1993. The lawsuit seeks overtime pay (generally one and one-half times the regular hourly pay rate). We are very pleased to inform you that we have obtained a favorable ruling from the Court that Farmers’ Personal Lines Claims Representatives in California are entitled to overtime. We are now working on the remedies phase of this lawsuit to get relief from the Court, including a determination of how much class members are entitled to for unpaid overtime, interest on that unpaid overtime, and “waiting time” penalties. A trial on the remedies phase of this case is now set to start in the Alameda Superior Court in Oakland on October 6, 2000. We are sending you this letter and enclosed pamphlet (describing what has happened in the case and including Frequently Asked Questions) to update you on the status of the case, and to explain what you can do to help.
