I backed into a car at a grocery store, causing very minor damage, a broken tail light. The owner of the other vehicle got 2 estimates, neither of which were over $200. Farmers opted to repair the damage at "thier own shop" whatever that means. When renewal time came, I was shocked to learn that my pemiums were going to almost double. Farmers had listed the damage at $1250, I was told. Needless to say, I found other insurance. While shopping around, I was told that any accident with more than $1200 damage was reported to some central agency that tracks this stuff for insurance companies, and that accident was on my record there. Even with that accident, I found the same insurance for less than I was paying Farmers before. No big deal, just an indication of how Farmers does business. Thanks for your good work, keep it up. |
